While I do not subscribe to the idea of new year resolutions here are some of my aspirations for 2025.

Things to write

• Write more blog posts. In a small effort to do my part to not have the internet filled with AI crap.
• Get 70% done with my programming book (current progress 5%)
• Get 50% done with my novel idea (current progress 1%)

Photography

• Get comfortable shooting, metering and exposing with my new 4x5 camera.
• Get 16 of 34 photos for my first photography book done (remembering Alec Soths rule that a book should have as many photos as the age of the photographer)
• Learn star trail photography and take at least 1 really good shoot.

Programming

• Really understand the ins and outs of Common Lisp
• Start learning Ocaml.
• Start dogfooding my personal knowledge management system (3% done)
• Continue to work and do more work at IETF

Do less

• Social media
• Social media
• Social media

Do more

• Create more art
• Read more books
• Hiking and camping

2025 will be very hard for a lot of people. Make sure you try and make yours the best that it can.
